Domo Hotel Boutique is a standout newcomer to Nosara’s hotel scene, beautifully transforming an older, landmark property into a stunning, Moroccan-inspired boutique hotel.
From the moment we stepped in, we were struck by its meticulous design and sophisticated charm. Though it could easily pass as an adults-only retreat, our kids were warmly welcomed, and the spacious multi-room self-catering suites are ideal for families. It’s without a doubt one of the most stylish hotels for families in Nosara.
Here’s a full review of Domo Hotel Boutique and what you can expect from your visit.

Highlights

- The pool with its striking dark tiles is a spectacular centrepiece for the hotel.
- Exquisite design, blending Moroccan riad influences with the tropical setting.
- Plush, relaxing poolside nooks filled with cushions, built-in fans, and a chic vibe.
- Spacious, stylish suites with full kitchens, perfect for family stays.
- Excellent dining options nearby in Playa Pelada, including Sunrise Coffee just across the street, and La Luna, one of Nosara’s best restaurants, a short walk away.
Best bits for kids
- The pool isn’t just gorgeous, it’s also great fun for the kids.
- Easy walking distance to Playa Pelada for beach adventures.
- Lots of tuk-tuks pass by the entrance, so you can hop on one of those for an added adventure.
Best bits for grown-ups
- Elegant, sophisticated design throughout the hotel, providing a grown-up, boutique feel.
- Two-bedroom suites are available so you can have some space away from the kids.
Good to know
- The hotel is newly opened, so some aspects may still be evolving – the garden has already grown tremendously, but will no doubt improve even more.
- Playa Pelada is quieter and less developed than neighboring Guiones, so it depends on the vibe you’re looking for.
Style and vibe

Domo Hotel Boutique beautifully blends its jungle setting with an elegant Moroccan aesthetic. The sophisticated palette of black, white, dark green, and natural wood is consistently striking throughout, creating an atmosphere of understated luxury.
Detailed touches like the ornate lanterns, archways, and thoughtfully designed relaxation nooks elevate the experience, making every corner Instagram-worthy. It feels grown-up and refined, but maintains a welcoming warmth that families will appreciate.
Location

Set in the up-and-coming Playa Pelada neighborhood, the hotel benefits from a quieter atmosphere compared to the busier Guiones area. The location offers easy walking access to some excellent restaurants and cafes, like the fantastic Sunrise Coffee right across the road, and Nosara’s celebrated La Luna just ten minutes away.
Olga’s on the Beach provides a more local dining experience, and Pulpo is another favourite, just a few doors down. Plus, Guiones is only a 5-minute drive away with all its cafes, restaurants and yoga studios.
Rooms

We stayed in a gorgeous two-bedroom apartment suite that was among the most spacious and stylish accommodation we experienced in Costa Rica. The suite had a generous living area, full kitchen, and thoughtfully designed interiors that echoed the hotel’s overall Moroccan chic aesthetic. It was perfect for our family, providing plenty of space to relax and unwind after days spent exploring Nosara.
Facilities

The hotel’s centrepiece is its stunning pool area, featuring aesthetic dark-hued tiles, and surrounded by beautifully appointed lounge spaces. With cozy nooks, plush cushions, and thoughtful touches like built-in fans, it’s a place designed for luxurious relaxation. While the hotel doesn’t have extensive additional facilities, the stylish, comfortable environment more than compensates, especially for those seeking a tranquil retreat.
Food and drink

While Domo Hotel Boutique doesn’t have an onsite restaurant, the fully equipped kitchens in the suites make self-catering easy and enjoyable. Plus, there are plenty of dining options nearby (see some suggestions in the location section above). Whatever you do, make sure you book a table for sunset at La Luna.
Things to do nearby

Nosara is a beach, surfing and wellness destination, and Domo Hotel is well placed for exploring all those elements. Ride the renowned waves at Playa Guiones, take a yoga class, join a wildlife tour, go horseback riding, or simply soak up the unique Nosara vibe. We have more ideas for things to do in Nosara in our full Costa Rica travel itinerary.
Do we recommend it?

Domo Hotel Boutique strikes a perfect balance between sophisticated style, relaxed family comfort, and Southern hospitality (its ex-pat owners moved here from Charleston).
Its attention to detail, stunning design, and great location position it to become one of Nosara’s most sought-after boutique accommodations. We highly recommend it, especially for style-conscious travellers seeking both tranquillity and family-friendly luxury.
