I'll never forget my first sight of La Paz. We'd been on a bus for over 10 hours and suddenly the landscape dropped and we found ourselves amid the mountains that surround the city. It's the most dramatic setting for a capital that we've ever encountered. The rest of what we saw of Bolivia was similarly impressive – from the dazzle of the salt flats to the serenity of Lake Titicaca.
