Country Kids Resort – Europe’s most charming all inclusive

Last updated on April 16, 2026

The words “all inclusive” have come to suggest a certain vibe – huge resorts with every bell and whistle you can think of. While convenient, I’ve never heard one described as charming.

But this one-of-a-kind boutique family resort in France is exactly that. It’s re-defined what all-inclusive can look like – and I don’t think you could find an easier, more luxurious family holiday.

A stay at Country Kids Resort an investment, with prices starting from €7590 per week for 4 people. But they’ve named it the “absolutely everything included” package for a reason. You really do get everything, from childcare to spa treatments to baby supplies. If you normally go for something along the lines of IKOS, I highly recommend trying this charming alternative.

It’s completely unique among all-inclusive France resorts – and in fact in all of Europe!

What’s Country Kids Resort like?

Picture the scene. You’re in the French countryside on what feels like a friend’s impressive estate. There are seven apartments dotted around picturesque gardens with swimming pools, a spa, play areas, mini golf, tennis and more. Everything is included so you have three meals provided daily, unlimited snacks and drinks, including free reign on the wine cellar. There’s even an onsite shop where you can help yourself to all the supplies you might possibly need. Every member of the family gets a spa treatment, the grown-ups get two date nights with babysitting is provided, and everyone can choose from a menu of activities, from boat trips to tennis lessons.

There’s a rhythm to the week with group lunches and dinners, like BBQs and raclette nights, alongside many moments to yourself. Perhaps most impressively, there’s childcare available throughout the day. Children can come and go from the kids’ club where there’s a whole programme of activities, from campfires in the forest to treasure hunts and movie nights. Because there are only seven apartments, and everyone stays for a week, the kids get to know each other, forming a little clan as the week rolls on. Our boys made friends who will now be pen pals, and we hope our paths cross with these families again.

The whole experience feels like core memory making in action. There were so many moments where we stepped back from the scene and smiled about how they’d remember this forever.

For us, this place is the ultimate in family luxury. The owners, Sylvain and Laure, have a background in the hotel business and have used that to create something utterly luxurious but perfectly charming. Their attention to detail is remarkable and the individual care is what makes this place so special. It’s an investment, and one that won’t be in reach of everyone. But if you’re in the market for a luxurious family holiday, I don’t think you could do better than this.

Here are some of the FAQs I’ve been getting, along with my answers…

What’s included at Country Kids Resort?

Country Kids has an “absolutely everything included” concept so you don’t have to worry about buying a single thing once you’re there.

This includes:

  • 7 nights in spacious family accommodation with multiple bedrooms, kitchen and lounge area. There are hotel-like services, including robes, luxury linens, room service and daily housekeeping.
  • All meals and drinks for the whole family, including breakfast, lunch, dinner, tea time and snacks
  • All alcohol, including the wine cellar – open 24/7
  • All shop items – open 24/7. This includes items like eggs, cereals, pasta sauces, ice creams, soft drinks, toothbrushes, nappies, shower gel etc
  • 36 hours of flexible childcare in the crèche and kids club (open for ages 3-months to 12 years)
  • Two nights of babysitting so you can have a date night off-site
  • Daily tractor ride and animal feeding at the petting zoo
  • Two off-site activities per family member (like paddleboarding, treetop adventure, boat trips, pony riding etc)
  • Bespoke weekly holiday planning service
  • One spa treatment per family member, including children!
  • Use of all the facilities (pool, tennis, mini golf, play areas, yoga studio and more)
  • Laundry service

The extent of what’s included makes it unique among France’s all-inclusive resorts.

What’s the food like?

The food is a big highlight at Country Kids. Firstly, It’s so nice not having to worry about what to cook, and secondly, the food is excellent.

Breakfast is a simple buffet and lunch is normally from an a la carte menu with options like crepes, burgers, salads and sandwiches. On two days, there are group lunches: a local meal on the Sunday and BBQ on the Friday.

For dinner, there are two social meals (a traditional French meal with live music; and a raclette and cocktail night), and three private meals served to your apartment. Plus two nights out with complimentary babysitting.

Teatime takes place daily with homemade cakes and pastries, and cute chocolate spread/jam sandwiches for the kids (our boys loved this!)

On top of all of this, you can help yourself to unlimited snacks, like ice creams, lollies, crisps and more.

The kids’ meals are served outside the kids’ club on a lovely terrace. We tended to join them there for dinner, having an aperitif while they ate with their friends. The kids’ meals are fresh and homemade, but kid-friendly too – things like pizza, wraps, burgers, falafels, pastas etc. On the rare occasion our kids didn’t like the main lunch, we ordered from the a la carte lunch menu (they loved the burgers) and ate together.

A highlight was the party day where the kids had a buffet of delights including eggs shaped to look like bunnies. To be honest, each mealtime for the kids felt a bit like a birthday party lunch!

We’re all vegetarian and Country Kids were able to accommodate us perfectly. If your kids are fussy (like mine!), they can prepare an alternative or there’s always pasta and pesto available in the shop!

What’s the accommodation like?

There are 7 apartments at Country Kids, ranging from 2-4-bedrooms, and all with fully equipped kitchens, living areas and bathrooms. The style and decor is like a traditional French cottage, charming and full of character.

Every bathroom has a bath and some are pretty epic (ours was the size of a jacuzzi!). And they also all have their own outdoor dining area. We stayed in the Old Dairy 5 and loved having lunch on the balcony.

It all feels very homelike and it’s easy to settle in. They even provide toys and books for the kids.

Do you have to mix with other families?

There are only 7 apartments at Country Kids, which means a maximum of 7 families at any one time. It’s a big place (30 acres!) so it never feels crowded and you could feasibly keep to yourself most of the time. That said, part of the joy of the experience is getting to meet other families. It’s not like you spend all your time with them, and we had plenty of time to ourselves, but the group events were a highlight.

Over the course of the week, there are 2 group lunches and 2 group dinners. The first group lunch is the day after you arrive, so a good chance to meet everyone. And then you’ll likely end up spending time together at the pool, enjoying aperitifs while the kids have dinner, or at group activities like yoga.

And the kids get to know each other too. Ours hung out at the kids’ club, by the pool and for endless hours on the trampoline. They even had two movie nights, all hanging out together in our apartment while we had dinner outside. By the end of the week, they were a little clan of friends and they’ll stay in touch with some as pen friends.

What’s the kids’ club like and what if your kids aren’t into kids’ clubs?

The kids’ club at Country Kids is slightly different to ordinary clubs because it’s so small and the kids and staff quickly get to know each other over the course of the week. They do lots of fun, wholesome activities, like treasure hunts, campfires in the forest, picnics on the farm, baking, ice cream making, slip ‘n’ slide and more. Plus there’s a soft play and plenty of games, toys and crafts in the kids’ clubhouse. The kids’ club generally runs from the morning until after dinner, and the kids can join in with as much or as little as they like. We found that most families hung out together by the pool in the afternoons.

My kids aren’t used to joining kids’ clubs on holiday and tend to rebel against the structure, no matter how fun the activities. At Country Kids, they joined in more than I expected. We just had to make it clear they were allowed to leave whenever they wanted, which the staff understood. None of the other kids were like this though, and joined in with everything with gusto – so it really depends on what your children are like!

And even if they don’t join in with all the kids’ club activities, they still get plenty of time with the other kids – on the daily farm visits, at the pool and in the evenings.

What facilities does Country Kids have?

Country Kids is on 30 acres of countryside in a secure, car-free environment. With a maximum of seven families, it never feels crowded.

Here’s a list of the facilities…

What’s the location like?

Country Kids Resort is in the village of Octon, in the Occitanie region. The area is something of a hidden gem with few international tourists. It’s a place to holiday like a French person. The nearby lake, Lac du Salagou, is a highlight, surrounded by maroon-hued hills. It’s among the most beautiful spots I’ve seen in France.

The local villages are atmospheric with stone buildings and cute restaurants. There are weekly markets and local events in the high season.

The nearest airports are Beziers and Montpelier, both a 45-minute drive away.

How does it compare to other all inclusive resorts in Europe?

Country Kids Resort is one-of-a-kind all-inclusive resort. I haven’t come across any other place in Europe that offers so much personalised service and childcare in a boutique, intimate setting. Normally all-inclusive resorts are huge. Of course, some people will prefer the anonymity of those big resorts, but if you want something more charming and bespoke, then Country Kids is definitely it.

Is it worth the cost?

The answer to this is highly individual and depends both on what you can afford and what you’re comfortable spending money on. Some people spend thousands on cars and clothes, but prefer less expensive holidays, and for others it’s vice versa.

There’s no doubt Country Kids is a high-cost holiday and for many it’s out of reach. But if you’re someone who prioritises holidays and has the budget for a luxury escape then yes, this place is 100% worth it. It’s one of the most special holidays I’ve ever been on and it’s hard to put a price on that kind of memory. I can’t see why you’d regret it.
